Consider The Location

Where do you want to host your big New Year’s Eve party? It’s important that your guests will be able to get to the location without any problems. Ideally, it should be somewhere close to public transport links so that guests can get the bus or train. Don’t assume that people will be able to take taxis – New Year’s Eve is the busiest night of the year for taxi drivers and getting a cab can often be incredibly tricky. If you don’t want to go to the expense of renting out a party venue, you could always host it at home. Just remember that there might be a lot of mess to clean up the next day!

Plan A Theme

You might want to give your party a theme. This is an especially good idea if you want to plan a fancy dress party as it can give people an idea of what costumes to wear. One great theme for New Year’s Eve is sparkles and glitter. Then, everyone can come wearing outfits that are super sparkly and covered in sequins.

Be Strict With The Guestlist

One of the worst things about New Year’s Eve is that it is so busy. Everyone will want to be out celebrating, so there are crowds everywhere. To make sure that your party doesn’t become too crowded, you should come up with a guest list and stick to it. Send out the invitations to your guests and mention whether they can bring a plus one or not. Don’t be persuaded to extend the guest list as you might end up overcrowding your venue and ending up with too many people than what you have catered for.

Organize Entertainment

How are you going to entertain your guests? If you have booked a disco or band, then this shouldn’t be too difficult as your guests will have a great time dancing. You might also want to think about getting a Booth Boy Photo Booth Hire so that your guests can have fun taking pictures all night. For a bit of a more sophisticated New Year’s Eve, you could always plan a dinner party and entertain your guests with some sophisticated chat.

Don’t Forget Food

I’ve already mentioned that you could cook up a storm and plan a dinner party for your New Year’s Eve party. However, if you don’t want to go to all the effort of a big sit-down meal, you still need to have some food on offer for your guests, even if it is just a buffet. Buffets are great options if your guests will be dancing all night as they can go and grab some food whenever they want any. If you want to plan your party as cheaply as possible, then you should make all the buffet food yourself. But to save yourself some time, it’s a better idea to hire a catering company to do it for you.

Don’t Start Too Early

Don’t like the idea of cleaning up after your drunken guests have vomited all over? Then you shouldn’t kick off your party too early. It’s actually really important that you consider the time of your party, as it can help your guests pace their drinking. Start the celebrations too early, and you will find that your guests get way too drunk way too early on in the evening.

Deck The Halls

Christmas may have been and gone by the time of your New Year’s Eve party, but it’s still nice to have some Christmas decorations up at your party. After all, it’s still classed as the festive period. So, take some time to deck the halls with boughs of holly!

These tips will help you get into the spirit of New Year’s Eve.

Happy New Year!
