Every woman’s had to deal with it at some point. Maybe you woke up late and had to rush out of the door to get to work, or maybe you decided to pop to the store without getting dolled up and bumped into someone you knew. And someone almost always gives you that look at says something like “is everything okay? You look tired!”

 

The reality is that we spend so much of our lives being bombarded with images of perfect women on TV and in magazines that a lot of people seem to have forgotten what a woman without makeup on actually looks like! However, just because you want to leave the house without having to cover yourself in foundation, highlighter, and blush, doesn’t mean you have to put up with people telling you how tired you look. Here are a few simple tips to help you feel more comfortable when you’re out and about.

 

Keep it simple

 

Now, you might not feel comfortable going to work or out with friends with no makeup on whatsoever, but that doesn’t mean that you have to spend all of your time trying to make yourself look like you just stepped out of a catalog. There are plenty of simple looks that you can pull off without having to spend too much time on them. Heck, just think about the sheer number of “no makeup” looks that you can find online!

 

Take care of your skin

 

If you want to be able to look great without makeup, then the first step is to actually look after your skin properly. Of course, this means that you might need to take a break from makeup anyway because it can often wreak havoc with your complexion. Not only that but there are plenty of products out there like retinol for wrinkles that can help you to keep your skin looking smooth and clear all the time. Being able to look after your skin can not only help you look better, but it can massively increase your confidence, meaning that you’ll feel less likely to rely on makeup all the time.

 

Get enough sleep

 

Of course, there’s always the chance that part of the reason people think that you look a little bit tired is that you actually are! The truth is that most adults simply aren’t getting enough sleep and that will eventually have an impact on the way that you look. Giant bags under your eyes are just one consequence of too many late nights. Not getting enough sleep can leave you will oily skin and plenty of potential issues like acne and more. As much of a cliche as it is, getting your beauty sleep really is the best thing that you can do.

 

Of course, none of this is to say that there’s anything wrong with wearing as much makeup as you want! Everyone should be allowed to express themselves in any way. But you shouldn’t be made to feel as though you can’t leave the house without spending hours making yourself look perfect.
