When you’re wearing something new, something you love, or something that felt completely out of your comfort zone but makes you look a million bucks, you want to turn heads. But, that feeling doesn’t have to be saved for special occasions. Who’s to say that you can’t leave a lasting impression by wowing passers-by with what you wear – wherever you go.
Go-to glamour doesn’t have to be saved for the celebs. If you want to feel like a style star, then why not work on upping your fashion game and bring out the big guns on a daily basis, and not just for something special. After all, you’d always make sure that your makeup is on point, so why not do the same with your style?
If you want to look good all day, every day, think small. It’s always the little things that count, and the tiniest details can really make the biggest impact!
Start At The Bottom
To get yourself started and in that style start frame of mind, you’re going to need to start right at the very beginning. It’s not always easy to look good, but you can learn to nail it with ease. If you want your entire outfit to shine, you ought to get the base layer sorted first. That means you need to make sure that you have underwear that not only looks good but fits well too (with styles like Freya Bras). When your underwear fits, your style will sing.
With your underwear ticked off, let’s talk skin. Now, you might think we’re here to talk style, and really we are. But, if you want to work on making your outfit look incredible, you have to put in the groundwork – and sometimes, that involves a lot more than just the clothes. So, you need to start with the perfect base. If your skin is looking dull, dry and lacking in life, your outfit won’t do much to improve that. But, if you’re skin is moisturised, shining and looking chic, your look will shine with it.
Get The Right Fit
Just like your underwear, you’re going to want to work with clothing that actually fits you. You might be tempted to go by your normal size when you’re buying something new, or try to fit into a size that you think you should be – but don’t, it’s not the way to buy. Instead, you need to forget about numbers and wear what looks good. Yes, start with your size in the first instant, but if you need to size up, don’t feel bad – if the outfit looks better, who cares?
Although it’s easy to place a lot of importance on your clothing (and it’s still okay to do that), you need to stop thinking of your clothes as the outfit. They’re not the entire outfit, they’re just the basic foundation. To make your style really stand out, you have to accessorize. Not everyone understands the importance of accessories, but they should. Accessories have the power to make or break an outfit, and without them, that same outfit can look boring, empty and incomplete.
As much as we’d love them to last a lifetime, so clothes will fall apart or look worn a lot quicker than others. It might be down to the quality, but it can also be a cause of how we care for them. To make sure that your clothes always look on point, you might need to invest in a clothes brush. By using a clothes brush, not only can you keep your clothing items looking fresh and clean, but you can brush off those annoying little bits of lint that can make you look messy.
Let’s be honest; heels aren’t always that comfortable. A shoe can look incredibly sexy, but it can be a pain to wear. When that happens, we’re torn between looking good and suffering, or wearing something else that doesn’t work as well, but feels comfortable. But, there is also another option. If you are buying new shoes, go up and extra half an inch. You can sometimes find that you get a little more wiggle room and the pain is that much bearable – or even nonexistent.
As much as you might feel like you want to stand out (and of course you do if you want to turn head), more often than not, it’s blending in that has the bigger effect. But, not with the crowds of course – the background instead. Regardless of the season, you can find a style that not only suits it, but sets it off. So, when you’re styling a look, make sure to take the time of year into account, as well as the occasion, and your outfit will set itself off in style.
